CGI Scripts
CGI (Common Gateway Interface) scripts and Perl
scripts are programs, written in the UNIX shell language (the language and
operating system of the internet). These programs, which are kept
at your ISP, do things like display a page counter or allow you to
process forms. Lately, these scripts have had a lot of problems with
security. So their popularity has decreased. Plus you can ONLY
use what your ISP has available. Some ISPs let their customer's
write their own scripts. You'd have to check with your ISP to see what
is available.
If they are available and you want them on your web page, it's ok with me
but I advise against it.
